Soft skills are a must for upskilling regardless of tools you use.

CNBC reported that almost nine out of ten employers want to see soft skills on a resume got me to think about a couple of things.

First, how many people understand the importance of adding soft skills that increase their chances of getting an interview?

Second, what does one do if one skill mentioned in the CNBC article is missing or what if a person genuinely lacks the skill for various reasons?

It’s one thing not to know, but once you know you have a weakness, you should upskill yourself so it becomes a strength.

How remains the question.

Some could take an online course, professional development, or workshops, but your time is precious if you’re like me.

Fortunately, another option lies on the table – finding useful websites or extensions to overcome the deficit.

So let’s go through some soft critical skills and share a few websites to enhance your work while boosting your resume!

Communication

  • Grammarly is an editor that helps you polish emails and documents, making it easier for the reader to understand what you are trying to convey.
  • Canva – sometimes, the best way to share information comes from visuals rather than lengthy reports or documents.  Canva has many resources where you can consolidate something through graphics or pictures.

Scheduling

  • Calendly – the best way to have live updates where other people won’t get double-booked.
  • Appointlet – some great features include unlimited users, meeting types, connection to Zoom, and customizing your intake form.

Time Management

  • Remember the Milk – the smart to-do app for busy people that helps you assess what needs to be completed.
  • Toggl – enables anyone to plan, track and deliver work on time without burnout.  Toggl has three options: Plan, Hire and Track, which helps anyone stay focused and on-point.

Project Management

  • Monday.com – helps to guide the team from ground zero to completion. Monday is a platform built for a new way of networking.

Analytical Thinking

  • Elevate – a free app that helps you develop speaking, memory, processing, and concentration. Available on both iOS and Android.
  • Memorado – boost your brain for IQ improvement, brain games, and mental exercise.  Another free app is available on both iOS and Android.

Utilizing these apps/websites can have a profound impact on your work.  Not only will it give you impeccable skills, but you will also gain the confidence to do the task given to you.
